T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 1. The 1st XI batted first against visitors Burnham Sports and scored 206-8, Jon Cook (58) and Danny White (49) top scoring. In another close finish Burnham were bowled out for 203, Jon Cook taking 5-58.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 5. The 2nd XI visited Purleigh, who scored 264-5. In reply Rayleigh totalled 226 all out, Jason Ox leading the scoring with 54.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 8. Rettendon 2s batted first against the 3rd XI and scored 173 all out, Richard Mantell taking 4-36, Paul Davis 3-39 and Adam Dudmish 3-40. Despite a battling 73 from Richard Verrinder the 3s were all out for 157 to lose by 16 runs.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 10. The 4th XI visited newly promoted Wickham who batted first and scored 226 all out, Matt Walker with 4-30 being the pick of the bowlers. In reply the 4s collapsed to 87 all out.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 11. On a pitch of uneven bouce and despite dropping 6 catches the 5th XI bowled hosts Billericay St Johns 2nd XI out for 122. At 40-6 another defeat looked likely but a dogged innings by opener Alan Brown (37) featured in a successive 7th and 8th wicket partnerships with Jack Himfen-Jones (21) and Brian Dawbarn to see the 5s home by 2 wickets.

The 6th XI with 3 father and under 11 sons in the team visited Harlow Town 4th XI and bowled the home side out for 92. Conor Slough (3-10) and Mark Jones (2-10) were the pick of the bowlers. Debutant Frank Tennyson( 36*) supported by Neil Dobson and Duncan Bond saw the side home to win by 3 wickets.

The Sunday XI’s opponents Not The MCC cried off on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m but thanks to the Club Cricket Conference we were able to get a fixture against Lyndhurst. Rayleigh batted first and scored 253-9, Adam Vyse scoring 101 for the second week running and Adam Dudmish scoring 55. Lyndhurst were well on their way to victory with 130-1 when the heavens opened and the game was abandoned.

Beaumont Seymour League. The Women and Girls XI visited Maldon for their second league match of the season. The home side batted first scoring 114-3. In reply Rayleigh scored 79-3 to lose by 35 runs. Further information here.

Southend Evening League Cup Competition 1st Round. The midweek XI played a strong Hadleigh & Thundersley side who totalled 174-4 in a 20 over match. Rayleigh were bowled out for 108.
Colts.

The Under 15As played Stock in a friendly and batting first scored 122-7, Nathan Healey and Christian Humphries both retiring on 25*. Accurate bowling from Sam Law (4 wickets), Tom Godfrey (2) and Luke Keeley (2) reduced Stock to 41 all out in reply. Only two South East Essex District Board league matches were played on Sunday morning. The Under 13Bs lost to Old Southendians U13Bs by 117 runs and the Under 11Bs beat Southend and Echo Monarch Trojans U11bs by 41 runs.
