An invitation to apply for membership of the Shepherd Neame Essex League was sent to Rayleigh and other Clubmark Clubs in other Leagues with three or more teams. Following consultation with members of the Club likely to be affected by an application, the management committee decided not to apply. 62.5% voted against joining, 20% in favour and the remainder chose to leave any decision to others.
A Street 20 project will be running from Friday 7th October between 5pm and 7pm at Clements Hall until 9th December.

A meeting has been called to protest against Essex County Cricket Club’s decision not to stage the festival in Southend in 2012. It will take place at the Civic Centre in Victoria Avenue, Southend, at 6.15pm on Wednesday 12th October. Anybody passionate about the hosting of festival events in Southend is invited to attend.
