Rayleigh W&G XI vs. Old Chelmsfordians 28/5/2010

The Rayleigh ladies made a great start on Friday with Lorraine, promoted to step in as captain for the evening, winning the toss and choosing to field first. Up to bowl first were Kerry and Zoe and the field all ready. Kerry took a great catch off her own bowling and then later a mighty throw at the stumps which took off the bails and another lady bit the dust. The entire field were doing great with Marie and her (b****) Louise K doing well behind the wicket with comments from fellow teammates with regards to Marie’s pink t***g.

Sophie and Kelly then came up to bowl with Sophie taking 4 wickets and 1 maiden and Kelly only let a few runs off her bowling. Next up to bowl were Jodie, Lorraine did a great job with their bowling and little Louise getting a wicket.

All the ladies did well in the field with a few little dives from some of them (I think this was just to get their whites dirty) well done Lorraine. Old Chelmsfordians ended on 105 for 7.

The Rayleigh woman & girls then went out to bat with Kelly and Sophie opening the batting. Kelly took 12 runs before getting out with a lbw Marie then went out with a quick 15 before getting caught and bowled Francesca was then in with Sophie who could not be moved from the track the Rayleigh ladies were getting quite close when Sophie had to retire on 25. Amy then went in to bat and got a 4 not out with Francesca.

Rayleigh ended on 85 for 2. Well done to all of us.

We would also like to say a thank you to all those that came and supported us.

Rayleigh Woman & Girls are at home next week if you would like to watch the game 6pm start.
