Report of week ending 2nd June

 

The top four Saturday League teams all lost.

The1st XI travelled to Stock and batting first were all out for 184, Nick Gosling top scoring with 60. Stock passed this total for the loss of 7 wickets, Mike Walsh taking 4-48. This result leaves the 1st XI bottom of the Premier Division.

Newcomers to the League, Hornchurch Athletic came to Rawreth Lane to play the 2nd XI and scored 212-8 in their innings. Accurate bowling by the visitors restricted the 2nd XI to an all out total of 106.

The 3rd XI were away at Aythorpe Roding 2nd XI and scored 169-9, which score the home side passed for the loss of 4 wickets.

The 4th XI played Tillingham 2nd XI at home and bowled them out for 112, Richard Mantell taking 3-38. Disappointingly the 4th XI were dismissed for 89

The 5th XI were away at Billericay St Johns 2nd XI who batted first and scored 184 all out, Conor Slough taking 3-28. Matt Dobson (67) led the reply and the 5th XI won by 4 wickets..

The 6th XI were at home Little Baddow 3rd XI who were bowled out for 112, David Cox taking 8-20. After another shaky start Murray Hall (52) and Chris Slough (32*) saw the 6th XI home by 4 wickets.

The Women & Girls XI lost to Old Chelmsfordians on Friday evening

The Sunday XI lost for the first time this season in the Warsop Sunday League against Great Waltham who scored 184, Jason Ox taking 5 wickets. In reply Rayleigh scored 94 all out.
