All six Saturday sides win and the 2nd XI promoted

The 1st XI were at home to Great Waltham 1st XI and batting first and scored 222-9 all out, Marcus Cornish and Danny White top scoring. Great Waltham scored 141 in reply.

The 2nd XI travelled to Terling 1st XI and bowled them out for 90, Trevor Nunn and Sree taking 3 wickets each. In reply the 2nd XI scored 91-1, Nick Gosling (50) and Andy Impey (25*) leading the scoring. This win means the 2nd XI will be promoted to Division 3 next year as they are 91 points clear of the third placed team with three games remaining.

The 3rd XI were away to Bentley 3rd XI who batting first scored 88 all out, Nick Green taking 5-21. The 3rd XI scored 89-4, Craig Baird scoring 50, to win by 6 wickets.

The 4th XI entertained Rayleigh Fairview 3rd XI and scored 214-5 in their 45 overs, Sam Verrinder (58*) scoring a maiden half-century and Brad Walker (49) leading the scoring. They then bowled out Fairview for 171 Paul Davies taking 3-31 and Sam Verrinder 3-20.

The 5th XI were at home to Wickham 2nd XI and scored 188-9, Tony Catling 40 and Frank Tennyson 32*. In reply Wickham were bowled out for 78, Matt Dobson taking 3-11 and Neville Dunn 3-15.

The 6th (Dragons) XI were at home to Chalkwell Misfits, who won the toss and batted and were bowled for 50, Luke Keeley taking 4-9 and Sam Levett 3-17. The Dragons knoocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket

The 6th (Eagles) XI were due to play Old Chelmsfordians 5th XI but for the third week in succession an opposition were unable to raise a side so another Saturday passed by for eleven of our cricketers without cricket on a beautiful afternoon!
