T Rippon Mid Essex Premier Division.  The 1st XI travelled to Old Chelmsfordians 1st XI who batted first and scored 222-8 in their 45 overs, Ian Bryant, Matt Gilmore and Will Nolde all taking 2 wickets. The Rayleigh reply stared disastrously losing 4 wickets for 16 runs.  Stands between Ben Francis, Joel Barnett (42), Jason Ox (68) and Ian Bryant (30) brought an unlikely win into prospect but the visitors fell short by 13 runs with 10 balls left.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 2.  The 2nd XI entertained Little Waltham 1st XI and batting first totalled 262-8, Dan Frost (97) and Chris Frost (61*) leading the scoring. At 100-8 the visitors looked to be well beaten but a 9th wicket stand of over a hundred brought the visitors back into the game and some big hitting from the final pair took them even closer. Rippon Mid Essex League Division 10.  The 6th XI hosted Galleywood 3rd XI, and batting first totalled 171-6, an injured Phil Wolff scoring 90*. A really tight finish ensued with Galleywood falling short by 4 runs also having lost 6 wickets.

One win and five losses (one by default) for the Rayleigh teams in the T Rippon Mid Essex League.

The holiday season certainly took its toll on Saturday at the club with an unprecedented level of non-availability and a number of players playing two or even three teams above their normal level.

T Rippon Mid Essex Premier Division.  The 1st XI travelled to Great Baddow 1st XI and bowled the home side out for 129, Liam Druce taking 4-43. T Rippon Mid Essex Premier Division.  Saturday saw the visit of top of the table Springfield 1st XI for the fourth League fixture this season and batting first the Rayleigh 1st XI innings, anchored by Ben Francis (82), got away to an excellent start and at 128-1 looked in position to set a challenging target for the visitors. T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 2.  The 2nd XI travelled to Bentley 2nd XI and batting first scored 262-6, Matt Lennox (80) and Chris Frost (52*) putting on 140 in 15 overs supported by Dan Frost (42) and Steve Lynch (35). T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 7. The 4th XI entertained Danbury, and batting first scored 252-3. Rolling back the years Phil Wolff opened the innings and carried his bat for 132 not out from 132 balls and was well supported by Brad Walker (38) and John Wright (35*). They then bowled the visitors out for 178, 13 year old Adam Sullivan taking 4-49 and (the somewhat older) John Wright 3-40.

The 7th XI entertained a strong Chelmsford 6th XI at Lake Meadows and invited them to bat. Chelmsford scored 257-6 in their 40 overs.  This score was clearly well out of reach for our inexperienced team but Duncan Baldwin, playing his first game for 4 years, carried his bat for 53 not out and together with Jack Himpfen-Jones (37) shared a 4th wicket partnership of 91 to give the Rayleigh score a degree of respectability to finish on 136-6.
