On Sunday the Under13A team played in a South Essex District semi-final against Basildon Under 13s and batting first scored 101. Basildon were 89-7 at the end of the 17th over when a very heavy downpour caused the teams to leave the field. The teams were unable to agree on a resumption of the game or on a date for a replay before the Final on Sunday so after referring to the Board it was decided by the Duckworth-Lewis calculation, which meant that Basildon won by 7 runs. A disappointing and rather unsatisfactory end to the season but the boys and parents were a credit to the Club in defeat.
