Rayleigh Ladies Win!

A brilliant performance from all the players involved in the home game on 10th June vs Woodham Mortimer.  Everyone played their part and put in a supreme effort.

Clare and Kelly were unlucky on the wet wicket after rain.  Excellent innings from Rebecca who retired on 28.  Sophie and Lorraine saw out the onslaught of the fast and accurate bowlers.  The midget Kings were only able to hit out in the last few overs because of the quality of batting that was to follow (Zoe, Jodie and Louise H).

Our bowlers executed their overs well and kept their heads in a tense match.  Jodie started the ball rolling with the 1st and 4th wicket taking out their opening bat.  Kelly bowled and LBWd another two for 8 runs in total.  Rebecca, Louise H and Lorraine kept the runs down, with Sophie and Zoe keeping their concentration to see off the last 3 bats.  Woodham scored just 66 runs off the bat.  Special mention to Sophie with 4 wickets, 7 runs off of 2 overs – including a hat-trick.  Thank you to Louise K who stepped in at the last minute due to a late drop out.  Roll on next Friday!

Did someone swap my team !!

Rayleigh Ladies v Woodham Mortimer

Back to our shocking usual, lost by 56 runs, shocking fielding, shocking batting. Well done to Kelly Castle for getting 14 runs at least one of us used a bat. Blinding armpit catch by Zoe Williams and I love her for it as I was bowling. Think we were all asleep for the first 6 overs and by the time the alarm clock went off it was way to late
