Results for w/e 30th May

Another damp and dull Saturday saw a day of mixed fortunes for the Club with 2 wins and 2 losses in the four completed matches.

The 1st XI were away to Brookweald, who batted first and scored 163–9. In reply Rayleigh were 65–5 but despite the tail wagging there was no repeat of last week’s heroics and they were all out for 149, Ian Bryant and Neil Henson both scoring 22.

The 2nd XIentertained bottom of the table Ashingdon who scored 142–7. Phil Wolff (81*) and John Stirk (46*) saw the 2s home to a 10 wicket victory.

The 3rd XI visited Great Burstead 2nd XI and batting first scored 229–5, Adam Vyse scoring his third century of the season. In reply the home side scored 128–6.

The 4th XI entertained Great Wakering a batting first scored 183–9, Lloyd Sabatini top scoring with 40. Great Wakering passed this score for the loss of 6 wickets.

The 5th XI visited Hullbridge 2nd XI but the match was abandoned after 12 overs with the home side at 32–2.

The 6th XI game v Hutton 5th XI was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The Sunday XI played Rayleigh Fairview in a Warsops Sunday league game. Fairview batted first and scored 164–7, Rayleigh collapsing to 115 in reply, Gary Hirst top scoring with 25.

The Women and Girls XI visited Old Chelmsfordians who batted first scored 105–7, Sophie Lennox taking 4 wickets. Sophie Lennox (25*), Marie Kelly (15) and Kelly Castle(12) took Rayleigh’s total to 85–2 in their 20 overs. More here.

Colts. Rayleigh Fairview U15s batted first against the Under 15As and scored 112–6, Yarwood (30) and Lee(36*) top scoring. Rayleigh were all out for 108 to lose by 4 runs. The Under 15Bs visited Wickford U15s who scored 172–4, Sam Verrinder taking 2–22. The U15Bs scored 58 all out, Liam Bond scoring 18. The Under 13As visited Rankins and scored 92, Luke Keeley 25* being the highest scorer. Rankins passed this total for the loss of 6 wickets. The Under 11As played Rankins U11s and won by 97 runs. The Under 11Bs beat Wickford U11Bs by 52 runs.
