Wins for 2nd, 4th and 6th XI on final day of 2011 league season and 2nd XI are Division 5 champions

Pegasus & Corringham were the visitors to the 1st XI. Rayleigh batted first and totalled a respectable 188, Marcus Cornish (40) and Matt Williams (33) top scoring. The visitors passed this total with the loss of 6 wickets thus avoiding relegation by 2 points and consigning Old Chelmsfordians to join Rayleigh in Division 1 next year.

The 2nd XI travelled to Great Waltham 2nd XI and batting first amassed 311-8, Andy Impey (93), Liam Druce (53), Steve Adams (52) and Matt Gilmore(30). In reply the hosts scored 180-8, Anees taking 3-24 and Matt Gilmore 3-36. This result ensured promotion to Division 4 as Champions.

The 3rd XI were away to South Weald 2nd XI and batting first scored 146-8, Richard Verrinder(37) and James Wratten (29*) leading the scoring. South Weald passed this score for the loss of 3 wickets, which means the 3rd XI finished 7th in the league.

The 4th XI were at home to Galleywood 2nd XI, who batted first and scored 217 all out, Richard Mantell taking 3-28. Rayleigh passed this score with the loss of three wickets, Steve Elsdon (67) and Brad Walker (45) making the main contributions. This result means 4th XI finished third in the league missing out on automatic promotion.

The 5th XI played Bentley 4th XI at Purleigh who batted first and scored 143 all out, Andy James taking 4-25. In reply the 5th XI were bowled out for 113 finishing 6th in the league.

The 6th XI visited Hannikins Farm to play Stock 4th XI and elected to bat and for the second game running Chris Slough (48) featured in a century opening partnership this time with Joe Gibbons (63). The innings closed on 191-7 after 40 overs. Accurate bowling from Luke Sullivan, Matt Dobson (4-26) and Josh Jones (3-33) meant the hosts were always behind the run rate but a big hitting 8th wicket partnership helped take their final total to 161 all out.
