Weekly report – 11th August 2018

The bad run of results for the Club continues as all six Saturday league sides lost again some quite heavily principally because we are not scoring enough runs and as a result the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th elevens are in the relegation zone of their respective Divisions.

T Rippon Mid Essex Premier DivisionThe 1st XI travelled to play Goresbrook 1st XI and batting first made a bright start at 49-0 but the introduction of spinner, Shane Barwick, brought about a collapse and the innings subsided to an all out total of 122, Will Nolde (34) and Jason Ox (33). The hosts knocked off the required runs for the loss of three wickets in the 23rd over, Elliot Ward taking 3-30.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 1.  A severely depleted 2nd XI hosted high flying Great Totham 1st XI and batting first were bowled out for 128. Chris Frost (29), Sean Binneman (25*) and Colin Mayor (24). The visitors passed the target for the loss of two wickets in the 21st over

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 5. The 3rd XI went to play Brookweald 2nd XI in an important relegation game and scored 192 all out, Sam Law (65*) and Matt Verrinder (56). The home side passed this score for the loss of 5 wickets with three overs to spare, David Hall taking 3-48.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 7. The 4th XI hosted local rivals Rayleigh Fairview 2nd who batted first and scored 233-5. This total proved well beyond the reach of the 4th XI and the innings closed on 96.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 8.  The 5th XI visited Little Baddow 2nd XI in another relegation game. The home side scored 226-7 in their 40 overs a target which proved too great for the 5th XI who scored 128-7 in their 40 overs, Richard Verrinder (61) and Alan Brown (21*).

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 10. Beaulieu Park 2nd XI came to Rawreth Lane to play the 6th XI and batting first scored 231-7, Mark Callaway 3-42 and Paul Cox 2-25.  The 6th XI struggled against some very accurate fast bowling but Mark Callaway (43*) and Senith Fernando (22) batted carefully to avoid the side being bowled out and the innings finished on 108-9.
